Centrus ILEC Boundaries data is
based on the Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier boundaries from MapInfo. This
database is designed to identify the geographic area within which the incumbent
has been granted a Certificate of Convenience, or operating authority, to
provide local exchange telephone service. The ILEC is also the “carrier of last
resort” in that they are obligated to serve that specific geography as a result
of regulatory agreements. There are currently 1,397 ILECs in the US.
Centrus ILEC Boundary data is
designed for use with Centrus Spatial+
solutions.
