The
Centrus Vegetation Zones data is critical for assessing
current fire conditions, monitoring changes over time, and determining management and
underwriting options. This dataset was created to measure vegetation
growth and change for much of California's forest and range
lands. Vegetation polygons were derived from California Department of Forestry and Fire
Protection and LANDSAT TM imagery at a scale of 1:24,000.
Each polygon is assigned a value representing Vegetation zone, cover type, update date, and
update cause information. Sutter County, California does not contain any Vegetation data
because they do not participate in the ongoing vegetation mapping
project. The current release of the Centrus Vegetation dataset only contains
shrub type polygons for California. Centus Vegetation Zones data is designed
for use with Centrus Spatial+ solutions.
