Centrus Home Heating Fuel data is a part of the U.S. Census Bureaus Summary
File 3 questionnaire released on April 1, 2000. Summary File 3 contains
detailed population and housing data collected from a 1-in-6 sample and
weighted to represent the total population. The home heating fuel data was
obtained from answers to questionnaire Item 42, which was asked on a sample
basis at occupied housing units. The data show the type of fuel used most often
to heat the house, apartment, or mobile home. The collected data was converted
to a percentage for decision making purposes. The data is displayed using TIGER
2000 Census tracts.
The fields contained in the Centrus Home Heating Fuel data are: Tract, Occupied
homes, Utility gas, Bottled, tank, or LP gas, Electricity, Fuel oil, or
kerosene, Coal or coke, Wood, Solar energy, Other fuels, and No fuel used.
